Daniel Pluznik, MD

Dr. Pluznik grew up in the Washington D.C. area.  After graduating from the University of Maryland with honors, he attended the University of Maryland School of Medicine where he was a member of the AOA honor society, graduating in 1995.  During college and medical school he was involved in research at the National Institutes of Health and Johns Hopkins Hospital.  After completing a medical internship at Mercy Hospital and an ophthalmology residency at Washington Hospital Center in D.C. he joined the practice in 1999.  In addition Dr. Pluznik serves as a clinical instructor at the Washington Hospital Center/ Georgetown University department of ophthalmology, where he trains residents in cataract surgery.

Dr. Pluznik specializes in advanced cataract surgery using the latest technology premium astigmatic and multifocal intra-ocular lenses.  He was one of the first to implant the Restor multifocal lens in the Washington area in 2005 and is one of only a few surgeons utilizing the LenSx laser cataract platform in the mid-atlantic area. In addition to extensive experience with advanced cataract surgery he performs glaucoma surgery and cosmetic and functional eyelid surgery, as well as comprehensive medical care of the eye. He has been named Washingtonian Magazine “Top Docs” and was featured in the Washington Post in September of 2012.
