Dr. Banda is a dedicated and compassionate optometrist who is proud to provide care as part of one of the region’s most respected ophthalmology teams, where advanced technology is paired with expert surgical care. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Biology in Kansas City and went on to receive her Doctor of Optometry degree from Inter American University of Puerto Rico. She completed externships in contact lenses and vision therapy, building a strong foundation in both medical and functional vision care.

With years of experience working alongside a team of highly skilled ophthalmic surgeons, Dr. Banda plays an integral role in comprehensive patient care. From preoperative evaluations to post-surgical management, she is dedicated to ensuring each patient feels well cared for at every step of their journey.

With advanced training in post-operative care, Dr. Banda focuses on helping patients achieve smooth recoveries and the best possible visual outcomes following cataract and other complex eye surgeries. She is experienced in managing patients with the latest technologies, including Light Adjustable Lens treatments after cataract surgery, allowing for a more customized and precise visual result.

Dr. Banda also has extensive experience in fitting specialty contact lenses for patients with keratoconus, post-surgical corneas, and other irregular corneal conditions. She finds great fulfillment in helping patients restore their vision and improve their quality of life through these customized solutions.

In addition, Dr. Banda is a leader in the management of ocular surface disease and dry eye. She offers advanced, non-invasive treatments such as Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and radiofrequency (RF) therapy, tailoring each approach to address the underlying causes of dry eye and provide lasting relief.

Beyond her clinical work, Dr. Banda is passionate about giving back. She has participated in volunteer efforts in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, providing eye care to underserved communities. She is committed to delivering personalized, attentive care using the latest innovations in eye health, helping each patient not only see better, but feel their best.

Outside of the office, Dr. Banda enjoys traveling, exploring new restaurants, and spending time with her fluffy Samoyed dog.
