Dr. Banda is a dedicated optometrist practicing at one of the region’s most prestigious ophthalmology centers, where cutting-edge technology meets world-class surgical expertise. She received her BA in Biology in Kansas City and her Optometry Degree from Inter American University of Puerto Rico. She did her externships in contact lenses and vision therapy. Working alongside and trained by a team of highly skilled ophthalmic surgeons for the last 9 years, Dr. Banda plays an integral role in comprehensive eye care, from preoperative consultations to post-surgical management.

With advanced training in post-operative care, Dr. Banda ensures a smooth recovery and optimal visual outcomes for patients undergoing cataract and other complex ocular surgeries including new technologies such as Light Adjustable Lens treatments post cataract surgery. She is also highly experienced in fitting specialty contact lenses for patients with keratoconus, post-surgical corneas, and other irregular corneal conditions, helping to restore vision and improve quality of life.

A leader in the management of ocular surface disease, Dr. Banda offers advanced dry eye treatments, including Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) and radiofrequency (RF) therapy for various forms of dry eye tailored to the needs of the patient. These non-invasive solutions provide lasting relief for patients with chronic dry eye by targeting the root causes of inflammation and meibomian gland dysfunction.

Dr. Banda is passionate about helping patients in need and has spent time doing volunteer work in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic providing eye exams. She excels at personalized care using the latest innovations in eye health. Whether managing complex ocular conditions or enhancing everyday vision, she is committed to helping every patient see – and feel – their best.
